Patrick durkin barclays biography

A senior Barclays lobbyist will host a multimillion dollar London fundraising dinner for Mitt Romney on the eve of the Olympic Games. Executives from a swath of banks will join the Republican presidential candidate for a private event at an undisclosed Central London location 24 hours before the opening ceremony. A second event for smaller donors will be held earlier in the evening.

Patrick Durkin, who lobbies on behalf of Barclays in Washington, will co-host the event after his former boss Bob Diamond withdrew after the rate-fixing scandal. Mr Durkin personally raised almost a million dollars for Mr Romney up until the end of May, making him the most prolific of all the lobbyists who are supporting the Republican campaign for the White House.
